Site toilets for building construction

Toilet cabins for building construction

From excavation to handover the site stays in one place, but the workforce changes with every phase. We set the cabins up at the site fence, clean every week and adjust the number of units when the fit-out trades arrive.

What matters

What counts on a building site

In building construction the structure grows upwards while the toilet stays at ground level. The location is therefore decisive: close to the access and the break areas, but out of the way of the crane, deliveries and scaffolding. If the cabin is planned as part of the site set-up, it never needs to be moved again.

Over a construction period of many months, long-term rental is the right form: from four weeks, then extended week by week, without a new quote. A small crew during the shell phase, ten trades at once during fit-out: you add units or return them as the phase changes.

Recommended rental type

Long-term rental, from 4 weeks minimum rental period. Weekly service clean included.

W&W toilet cabins on a construction site: building construction

In detail

Six points that make the difference in building construction.

01

The floors grow, the location stays

The cabin stands at ground level by the site fence or the container area, not on the slab. Short walks from the hoist or stair tower save minutes per person every day.

02

Workforce by construction phase

During the shell phase one crew is on site; during fit-out, electricians, plumbers, drywall and painters arrive at the same time. Units can be added and returned week by week.

03

Relocation by tower crane

When the site set-up changes, the crane lifts the cabin to its new spot using the crane hook add-on. The add-on costs €6.00 per week net.

04

Winter building without a break

With a fan heater for €7.50 and light for €4.00 per week net, the cabin stays usable in the dark months. Both need site power at the location.

05

Combination lock in the city

If the site fence runs along a busy street, the combination lock for €2.50 per week net keeps passers-by out. Only the site knows the code.

06

Access for the service run

Our service vehicle must get within seven metres of the cabin. The site gate and the route to it should stay clear even while materials are being delivered.

Regulations

What the Workplace Ordinance requires

The German Workplace Ordinance (Arbeitsstättenverordnung) obliges every employer to provide toilet facilities for their staff, and that applies on construction sites too. The technical rule ASR A4.1 "Sanitärräume" (sanitary rooms) sets out how toilets and washing facilities must be equipped and contains its own provisions for construction sites.

Where several companies work on one building site, each employer is responsible for its own staff. In practice, sanitary provision therefore belongs in the site set-up plan and in the coordination with the health and safety coordinator under the Construction Site Ordinance (Baustellenverordnung). These notes are no substitute for legal advice.

FAQ

Questions about building construction

Your question is not listed? Call us, we answer in one sentence instead of a form.

How many toilet cabins does a building site need?

As a rule of thumb, one cabin per ten people present at the same time. During the shell phase one or two units are often enough; during fit-out with many trades the need rises sharply. Because long-term rental runs week by week, you add cabins when the next phase starts and return them when they are no longer needed.

What does a site toilet cost over the whole construction period?

The standard toilet cabin costs €29.50 per week net on a long-term rental, so €118.00 for four weeks and €1,180.00 for 40 weeks. Delivery, collection and the weekly service clean are included. Extensions run week by week, and no new quote is needed.

Can the cabin be moved by the tower crane?

Yes, with the crane hook add-on for €6.00 per week net on the standard cabin and €4.50 on the accessible cabin. If no crane is available, we relocate the unit on the next service run. The new spot must again be reachable within seven metres for our vehicle.

What changes in winter on a building site?

With the fan heater add-on for €7.50 per week net the cabin stays usable in frost, and the light add-on for €4.00 per week helps with early shifts. Both need power at the location. In persistent frost we adapt the chemicals and the service interval, and the spot should stay cleared and accessible even in snow.
