How often is a site toilet cleaned?

On construction sites a weekly service is common, but it is no blanket promise for every project. How often a unit should actually be cleaned depends on the number of users, the construction phase and your requirements, and is agreed individually with you.

The service visit

What happens during cleaning

A service visit consists of several steps that together ensure the hygiene and function of the unit.

When our service team visits a construction site, it is about more than simply emptying the tank. First the waste tank is emptied properly and the sanitary fluid renewed, so that odours are bound and the biological breakdown process in the tank works. Then the cabin, seat, handles and interior walls are cleaned. Consumables such as toilet paper are restocked, and the unit's technical parts, such as the door lock, ventilation and, where present, the hand-wash station, are checked for function.

If anything is noticed, such as damage caused by site operations, the service team reports it back so that we can clarify with you whether an additional measure is needed.

Which interval is common on construction sites

On construction sites a weekly service visit has become established practice. This describes a usual approach but is no firm commitment for every project: the interval that actually fits depends on how many people use the unit, how long the site runs and which construction phase is currently active. On smaller sites with few people a less frequent interval may be enough; in labour-intensive phases with several trades on site at once, a more frequent rhythm can make more sense.

How to tell the interval does not fit

  • The tank is visibly very full well before the next service date.
  • Consumables such as toilet paper regularly run out before the next visit.
  • The workforce on site has increased noticeably, for example through an additional trade.
  • Feedback from staff points to unpleasant odours or a lack of cleanliness.
  • The construction phase has changed, for example from shell construction to fit-out with more people on site.

If you notice one of these signs, talk to us. The agreed interval can be adjusted by arrangement without you having to change the entire rental contract.

Thinking about the service interval across the construction period

Especially on longer construction projects, the need changes over time. In the shell construction phase there are often fewer people permanently on site than during fit-out, when several trades work in parallel. It is worth not setting the service interval once and then leaving it unchanged, but reviewing it together with us as the project progresses. Frequently asked questions

Is the weekly service guaranteed?

The weekly interval is common on construction sites, but it is not a fixed automatic arrangement for every project. The actual interval is agreed individually with you and is guided by the number of users, the construction phase and your requirements.

What exactly happens on a service visit?

The service team empties and cleans the tank, cleans the cabin and seat, restocks sanitary fluid and consumables such as toilet paper and checks the technical condition of the unit.

Can I adjust the interval during the construction phase?

Yes. As the number of users can change over the course of construction, the agreed interval can be adjusted by arrangement with us, for example when a trade with more staff arrives on site.

What do I do if the toilet is heavily used between two visits?

Just get in touch with us. We then check whether an additional service visit or a second unit makes more sense, rather than simply shortening the regular interval.

Are consumables restocked on every visit?

That is part of the standard scope of a service visit. We clarify the exact scope of services with you in advance in the quote.
